Want to become a financial expert? You’ve come to the right place!
Do you like the control of using a spreadsheet to manage your personal finances? No matter if you are a beginner looking, to upskill your finance game or a savvy financial expert who simply needs a tool to save some time. gini’s new Smart Sheet is going to save your day.
Still using your manual Excel sheet? Get smarter!
We’ve received your requests to export data from the gini app – and the pain it is to have to manually enter your transactions into your Excel sheets. We’ve heard you – and we have taken the gini app up another notch!
All your bank account updates automatically go to Smart Sheet
gini Smart Sheet is not your regular financial spreadsheet or the standard export function many PFM apps provide. What makes the gini Smart Sheet unique, is the in-depth information it provides whilst it keeps itself up-to-date (you read that right, it automatically syncs your transactions into a Google sheet).
Dive deeper into your spending habits tab by tab
With all the data you love—Account Data, Transaction Data from all your linked banks—gini Smart Sheet gives you an overview of your spending habits by sorting it out for you and helping you visualize with comprehensive graphs with even deeper insights than what you have on the app.
Want to view multiple currencies and time periods? Your choice
Play with the filters and you can see your incomes and expenses per currency, year and month. You can also select months on specific categories to learn more about your spending behavior and adjust your saving plan accordingly.
What’s more? Check out the list below and see what Smart Sheet can do for you:
✓ Global trend of your expenses per month
✓ Detailed breakdowns of your expenses
✓ Data analysis of spending habits
✓ Comparison between different time periods
One-click away from spreadsheet automation
Sounds exciting to you? Let’s get started! Simply go to Power-ups under Settings to find Smart Sheet. All you need to do is to sign in with your Google account and you will receive a link to your Smart Sheet.
Double the fun by collaborating with your beloved ones
Once you are linked, full automation is available anytime anywhere. You can download your Smart Sheet to any devices with no restrictions. With the same link, you can easily share all financial data and analysis with your partner.
If you happen to have linked joint accounts or corporate accounts to gini, and you would like them to contribute to your shared financial management, Smart Sheet can serve you well.
You can even add your own tabs to the online Smart Sheet and download the Smart Sheet to change transaction details. For example, if you’d like an overview of the whole family’s finance, simply ask your family members to add their Smart Sheets and create a master Smart Sheet.

1. Is my data missing?
If you seem to be missing one whole month of data, it is likely that you don’t have any transactions in the currency in that month for that year. Make sure all your bank accounts were synced to ensure all transactions were imported. If problems still persist, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
2. Why aren’t my changes showing on Smart Sheet?
It may take around 15 minutes from when the data shows in the gini app before the changes are reflected on the Smart Sheet. However, you can trigger your Smart Sheet manually anytime, by going to the Smart Sheet page and hitting the refresh button (settings —> Power-ups —> Smart Sheet).
3. Why does the data look strange in my chart?
When your chart does not look like you are expecting, check the following:
- Ensure your gini app is up to date
- Ensure you have recently synced your bank account in the gini app
- Ensure you have selected the correct currency and year in the Smart Sheet
- Ensure you actually have transactions in that month for that year
If problems continue to persist, please contact us at email@example.com.
4. Why do I always need to select a currency and year?
We want to make sure we display the data that you want to see. In order for us to do this, we need to know which data you want to see.
5. Can I edit my data and add transactions?
We advise you not to change your Smart Sheet data, since the charts may then misrepresent your financial situation and the changes won’t be reflected in the app. But if you still want to edit your data, we encourage you to duplicate your Smart Sheet (File → Make a copy) and use the copy to edit and/or add transactions. You can also create your custom chart in a new tab.
6. Can I view my sheet on my phone?
Yes, there are no restrictions on device type to display the Smart Sheet. However, it may not be the most optimal view.
